Vermont State Craft Center Designation

A designation for craft galleries and education facilities approved by the State of Vermont and awarded as the result of an application and approval process.

Vermont State Craft Center(VSCC)

A site that has received the designation.

Vermont State Craft Center Overview Commission(VSCCOC)

A commission, appointed by the governor, comprised of representatives from various state agencies and the crafts community that oversees the Standards Group's designation and jury process and makes the final decisions regarding State Craft Center status.

Vermont State Craft Center Network

The dynamic network of Vermont State Craft Centers that may collaborate on matters common to all including promotion, sales, and education.

Standards Group

An advisory committee made up of members of the Vermont crafts community of craft artists, educators, or retailers convened (by the VSCCOC) to execute the tasks of designing and implementing the application procedure, and evaluating applicants for the designation.

Jury Panel

A group of individuals that the SG will convene to evaluate each applicant site.

Jury Pool

Volunteers on record as offering to be on a jury panel as needed.

Jury Process

The twice yearly period in March and October when galleries and education facilities can apply for designation as VSC's.
